Most residents in Coburg are owner occupiers. Housing is mostly detached attracting families to the suburb. Streets are wide and tree lined. There is a fairly substantial muslim population in the suburb. HM Prison Pentridge is located in Coburg (an impressive blue stone building). It’s now partly demolished with part of the land now zoned for residential development.
