Most of the houses in Elsternwick are period in style. They range from large brick double fronted Edwardian homes or Victorian properties, or single fronted weatherboard styles. Some of the streets are very narrow, and off street parking with many of the period homes is not commonly found. Modern town houses are becoming increasingly popular and sell in excess of 1 Million. Apartments and villa units are also popular and are generally located closer to the shopping strip on Glen Huntly road.
