Located 16km from Melbourne’s CBD with a population of 8693 (2006 census). Sandringham is a popular and exclusive bay-side suburb with a large number of owner occupiers who pay high prices for the privilege of owning a block of land within sniffing distance of the sea. The village feel of its shopping district, wide tree lined streets, coastal walks, and yacht club, make it popular with visitors who enjoy the relaxed nature it emits. Sandringham contains a mix of architectural styles. Houses are generally on larger blocks of land (600 sqm +) – many period in style including double fronted Victorian and Edwardian brick and weatherboard properties, and Californian bungalows. Luxury high spec double story town houses are common, as well as a range of post war brick veneer stock which includes small villa units in blocks of 6 – 8 and half block subdivisions – popular with retires downsizing in the area.
